Pakistan’s caretaker PM Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar has described the situation on the border as worrying. In an interview with Voice of America, Kakar said that the situation on the eastern and western borders of Pakistan is critical, but it will not have any impact on the elections. In view of the danger on the border, security arrangements are being further strengthened. We have full hope that we will be able to complete the election process by normalizing the situation.

While talking about the issue of Imran Khan, Kakar said – No effort is being made to keep Imran out of politics. There are serious allegations against him. The law is taking its course and I hope that the legal process will be transparent while taking action against Imran, so that his followers cannot make such allegations.

Election Commission wants elections on the basis of new delimitations
Kakar said in the interview – Our government is ready to provide all possible help to the Election Commission in terms of financial and security for the elections. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had announced to conduct fresh delimitation on the basis of the new census. Due to this the elections were getting delayed. President Arif Alvi had asked ECP to hold elections on 6 November.
