Baramulla Encounter: Another terrorist killed in Uri, two killed so far in the encounter; Search operation continues

Srinagar, State Bureau, Kashmir Encounter: Encounter continues between terrorists and security forces in Uri (Baramulla) sector adjacent to the LOC in North Kashmir. Meanwhile, the soldiers have killed two terrorists, while there is information that two terrorists are still trapped.

Bullets were fired to escape from security forces

On Saturday, the sound of bullets echoed when the terrorists, seeing them coming towards their hideout, opened fire to escape from the security forces. The security forces immediately took their positions and retaliated.

Encounter taking place on the outskirts of Hathlanga

It is not clear whether the terrorists trapped in the siege have recently infiltrated from Jammu and Kashmir or were already present in this area. This encounter is taking place on the outskirts of advance village Hathlanga. There is also a dense forest, a drain and some vacant houses. Concerned officials said that the police had come to know from their system last night that a group of terrorists had been seen near Hathlanga.

Clash between terrorists and soldiers

As soon as the news was received, a joint task force of police and army cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. Early today, when the soldiers were moving ahead during the search, the terrorists broke the cordon and opened fire on them to escape. The soldiers also took their positions and retaliated. The terrorists also fired rifle grenades and UBGL at the soldiers.

Two terrorists were arrested in Uri

When asked about the number of terrorists, the concerned officials said that nothing is clear yet, but their number could be two. Additional security forces from nearby camps and posts have also reached the encounter site. Soon the terrorists will be killed or captured. Other details are awaited. It is noteworthy that last Friday, security forces had arrested two local terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba in Uri sector itself.
