BJP declared 2 Rajya Sabha candidates from Rajasthan, these 2 big names announced
Jaipur. BJP on Monday declared Chunnilal Garasia and Madan Rathod as candidates from Rajasthan for the biennial elections of Rajya Sabha. The candidature of both was announced in a list released by the party. It was told that the Central Election Committee of the party has approved the names of both.
Voting for three seats of Rajya Sabha is to be held in Rajasthan Assembly on 27th February. According to the number of candidates from BJP, Congress, Independents and other parties, the victory of two candidates from the state’s ruling party and one from Congress is considered certain. If the number of candidates exceeds three then voting process will be adopted otherwise all three candidates will be elected unopposed.
BJP has played a bet on the tribal vote bank by making Chunnilal Garasia its candidate for Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. Garasia has been a minister in the Rajasthan government and has held many positions in the organization. Apart from being the National Vice President of BJP ST Morcha, he is currently the State Vice President of BJP. Chunni Lal Bhairo Singh has also been a minister in the Shekhawat government. Resigned from the post of minister and went into car service. Garasia had participated in the Ekta Yatra led by Murli Manohar Joshi. The journey was to go to Lal Chowk in Kashmir. At that time Narendra Modi was the coordinator of Ekta Yatra.
Here, Madan Rathod is rewarded for his dedication to the party. Madan Rathod was the Deputy Chief Whip in the Vasundhara government. Madan Rathod has been MLA from Sumerpur in 2013. If he did not get the ticket from the party in 2023, he was preparing to contest the elections as an independent candidate from Sumerpur assembly constituency. The nomination was withdrawn after persuasion by the party. The dedication shown towards the party has been rewarded today.
