During the discussion in the Lok Sabha, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that the second stage of Chandrayaan-3 will start when its lander and rover modules – Vikram and Pragyan wake up from their 14-day sleep. Responding during the discussion on Moon Mission in the Lok Sabha, the Union Minister said that efforts are being made to wake up Vikram and Pragyan from their sleep. He said that while we sleep on earth tonight, Vikram and Pragyan might be awake on the moon.

Creating history, India’s Chandrayaan-3 landed near the south pole of the Moon on August 23 last month. After this Chandrayaan-3 completed its mission. India became the first country in the world to make a soft landing in this part of the Moon.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that lander Vikram and rover Pragyan have conducted experiments on the lunar surface since landing on the moon on August 23. After this, on September 4, the battery was fully charged and he was put to sleep. Their solar panels were set in such a way that the lander and rover could get energy after sunrise on the moon.

The minister said that efforts are being made to activate the communication circuit with the lander and rover. This circuit is called wake up circuit. This will work when the temperature drops below minus 10 degrees. Now Team ISRO and all the people associated with the mission are waiting for the temperature to increase on this moon. As soon as the temperature on the Moon goes above minus 10 degrees, a wake-up call will be given and with this the lander Vikram and the rover Pragyan will wake up from their sleep.

Waiting for wake-up call to be activated

The minister said that this will be the first time in the world, when the country will celebrate the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill, then perhaps there will be an opportunity to celebrate the awakening of Vikram and Pragyan. He said that the second stage of Chandrayaan-3 is going to start in the next few hours. We are waiting for the wake-up call to be activated and for Vikram and Pragyan to respond to that alarm. Once the wake up call is connected, Chandrayaan-3 will start communicating with Earth and we will be the first country in the world to do so.

Minister said- Previous governments did not give enough resources to the space agency

The day-long discussion on Chandrayaan-3 in the Lok Sabha also saw some bickering, when the Union Minister said that the previous governments did not provide adequate resources to the space agency. He said that trucks were available at that time, but space scientists were not provided transportation facilities and there was difficulty in carrying the rocket.
