There is a provision for 33% reservation for women in the bill. Union Minister Prahlad Patel also posted on social media and said that the bill will be approved. However, after some time he deleted the tweet.

Why is this news important: This bill has been passed in Rajya Sabha in the year 2010. But it was never presented in the Lok Sabha. Since then the women’s reservation bill is pending. According to the report of news agency PTI, this reservation will be applicable in Lok Sabha and state assemblies. Many opposition parties including Congress have supported the bill.

2. Supreme Court said- It is wrong to postpone the decision on the disqualification of Shiv Sena MLAs.
A hearing was held in the Supreme Court on the disqualification of 16 MLAs of Shiv Sena Shinde faction. The court told the Speaker of Maharashtra Assembly that you cannot postpone the decision on this matter for long. You have to set a time limit for it. The court adjourned the hearing of the case for two weeks.
