New Delhi:
More than 24 hours after Hemant Soren’s arrest in the alleged money laundering case, Governor CP Radhakrishnan invited Champai Soren (Jharkhand Next CM) to take oath late on Thursday evening.

Important information related to the case:

  1. Veteran Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Champai Soren will take oath as the new Chief Minister of Jharkhand today. Champai Soren has been given 10 days to prove his majority. More than 24 hours after Hemant Soren’s arrest in an alleged money laundering case, the Governor invited him to take oath late Thursday evening.

  2. According to the sessions, Basant Soren and senior Congress leader Alamgir Alam will be given the post of Deputy CM. According to the information, Champai Soren will expand his cabinet after proving majority in the assembly. This time many new faces can be included in the cabinet.

  3. Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan’s move came hours after Champai Soren met him on Thursday, in which he appealed to invite him to take the oath. Champai Soren said in a letter to the Governor, “There is no government in Jharkhand for 18 hours and there is a state of confusion. We hope that being the constitutional head, you will soon take steps to form a popular government.”

  4. After the delay in the Governor’s decision and slight difference in numbers, the JMM alliance is facing the fear of breaking. Because of which he tried to send his MLAs to Hyderabad.

  5. JMM’s plan to send MLAs could not succeed due to bad weather. The flight to Telangana could not take off, after which the MLAs were taken to a government guest house in the city late in the evening. After some time, Champai Soren got a call from Governor CP Radhakrishnan.

  6. JMM-Congress-RJD alliance has 47 MLAs in the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly, and the majority figure is 41. At present 43 MLAs are supporting Champai Soren.

  7. BJP has 25 MLAs and AJSU i.e. All Jharkhand Students Union has three MLAs. The remaining seats are divided between NCP and a Left party, while 3 MLAs are independent MLAs.

  8. The low majority figure has created concern in the JMM alliance. Whereas even before the arrest of Hemant Soren on Wednesday, the leaders were insisting that they had sufficient numbers to form the government.

  9. Champai Soren said, “We have submitted the report with 43 MLAs in our support. It is expected that the strength will reach 46-47, so there is no problem. Our ‘alliance’ is very strong.”

  10. According to sources, the Governor was also shown a 49-second roll-call video of MLAs supporting Champai Soren.
