Horrific robbery in Muri Express train, robbers beat up passengers and snatched lakhs of rupees – lclk
A massive robbery has taken place in a train in Latehar, Jharkhand. The robbers not only looted money and luggage from the passengers but also beat them and injured them. This train robbery took place between Barwadih-Chhipadohar railway station of Barkakana railway section.
Robbers committed train robbery in the Muri Express train going from Muri to Jammu Tawi between Latehar and Barwadih stations. The dacoits also beat up the passengers fiercely and looted lakhs of rupees. The incident happened late at night between 12 and 1 am. All the dacoits had boarded from Latehar station.
The number of dacoits is said to be 7 to 8. The train left Latehar at around 11 am. After the train opened, the dacoits started looting. Women passengers sitting in S9 bogie were also misbehaved.
During the robbery the dacoits also fired 8 to 10 rounds. After the robbery, the dacoits got down by pulling the chain before Barwadih station. When the train reached Daltenganj station, the passengers created a ruckus. The train remained stopped at Daltenganj station for more than 2 hours.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s Latehar District Minister Vikas Mittal was also robbed of Rs 17,000 and he was also beaten up by the robbers. Mittal was going to Vaishno Devi with the family. All the injured passengers were treated at Daltenganj station. At present the Railway Police is investigating this matter. Efforts are being made to arrest the criminals.
