According to the information, two assault rifles, four magazines, 90 cartridges, a pistol and Rs 2100 in Pakistan currency were recovered from the infiltrators killed in Kupwara.

According to the information received here, soldiers patrolling in Kumkari Haihama area along the LoC in Machhal sector under District Kupwara, saw a group of infiltrators coming towards Indian territory from Ghulam Jammu Kashmir (POK) in the early hours of today.

Encounter between soldiers and terrorists

At the same time, the soldiers took up their positions, alerting the nearby posts and checkpoints. The infiltrators armed with automatic weapons came forward.

The soldiers challenged them and asked them to surrender. As soon as they heard the challenge of the soldiers, the infiltrators started firing and the slaves started running back towards Jammu and Kashmir. The soldiers also retaliated. With this the encounter started there.

Huge quantity of arms and ammunition recovered from the encounter site.

Relevant sources said that two infiltrators have been killed. A huge quantity of arms, ammunition and other equipment has been seized from the encounter site.

Defense Ministry spokesperson said that anti-terrorist operation is going on in Machhal. Two terrorists are reported to have been killed. The exact number of killed terrorists and their identity will be known only after the operation is over.

Two terrorist hideouts destroyed in Tral

Security forces destroyed two terrorist hideouts in Tral of Pulwama in South Kashmir.

A joint task force of 42 RR of police and army has claimed to have destroyed two terrorist hideouts in Pulwama, South Kashmir. The concerned officials said that both these hideouts were in the Nagbal forest adjacent to Gulshapona in the upper part of Tral.

Terrorists prepared a hideout by digging land in the forest

Both these hideouts were prepared by digging the ground in the forest and wood and grass were spread over them, so that no one would know about them. Blankets and some food items have been found from these places. Sources said that both these hideouts are very old and they were allegedly prepared by Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists.
