Maharashtra: Dalit youths hanged upside down and beaten with sticks for stealing goats and pigeons

The accused beat up four Dalit youths after taking them out of their homes.

Four Dalit men were allegedly hanged upside down from a tree and beaten with sticks by six people on suspicion of stealing a goat and some pigeons in a village in Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar district. The police gave this information on Sunday. A video of the incident, which took place at Haregaon in Shrirampur taluka, surfaced on social media, following which the police on Saturday arrested one person in connection with the attack, while five others are absconding, an Ahmednagar police official said.
