Prime Minister Modi also mentioned former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri in his speech. He said that Shastri ji had encouraged the soldiers from this very house during the 1965 Pakistan war. It was in this House that the attack on democracy was witnessed during the Emergency. This House also saw the strong return of democracy.

PM Modi also mentioned the period in the country when India was stuck in a major economic crisis. He told that the country was once burdened with economic policies. The government of former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao left the old policies and made new policies, the benefits of which are still being reaped today.
PM enumerated the achievements of the government
The Prime Minister said that many issues were pending for decades. Our government resolved those issues in this House. The mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, many historical decisions, issues pending for decades and their solutions were also taken in this House. He said that this House will always remember Article 370. Pending issues like Article 370 were also resolved in this House. He told that the decision of One Nation One Tax, GST was also taken in this House. One Rank One Pension happened here. 10 percent reservation for the poor was passed here.
