Due to continuous water discharge from Rana Pratap Dam, for the first time in the season this year, 13 gates of Kota Barrage are being opened and 2 lakh 69 thousand cusecs of water is being released. Late at night the district administration issued an alert in the lower settlements. While making an announcement in the lower settlements, they were advised to move to a safe place in case of rising water. As soon as the water discharge from Kota Barrage increased at around 7 pm on Monday evening, the entry of people on the river front was stopped as a precautionary measure.

Executive Engineer Bharat Ratna God said that there has been good rain in the catchment area of ​​MP for two days. Due to that, there is an inflow of 3 lakh cusecs in Gandhisagar dam. By opening 7 small and 5 big gates of Gandhi Sagar, 2 lakh 75 thousand cusecs of water is being discharged. Due to which Ranapratap’s level has become 1156.02 as against 1157.50. There is an inflow of 2 lakh 85 thousand cusecs in Ranapratap. By opening all 9 gates of Rana Pratap, 2 lakh 86 thousand cusecs of water is being released. This water is coming from Kota Barrage. Kota Barrage has 13 gates opened at an opening of 245 feet. About 2 lakh 69 thousand cusecs of water is being drained. Three gates of Kota Barrage are open 15-15 feet and 10 gates are open 20-20 feet. At 1 am all 13 gates were opened at 20 feet. Released 2 lakh 80 thousand cusecs of water.

At present all the dams are at filling capacity. Due to this, the amount of water that comes will be discharged. The people of the settlements built in low lying areas were informed to the district administration. In case of high water level, an announcement has been made to move the people from the low line area to a safe place. God said that at present there is no situation of panic. In 2019, 7 lakh 5 thousand cusecs were discharged and in 2022, 5 lakh 20 thousand cusecs were discharged.
