The earth is bursting rapidly in Africa, a sign of the end, will the earth be divided into 2 pieces?
The Chopal: According to geologists, it takes millions of years for any particular change to occur on Earth. But, looking at the rift in Kenya, it seems that the situation may change rapidly in the coming times. Because, the hot molten rocks of the center of the earth are flowing to the surface, which can work to divide the African continent into two parts.
Will the African continent split into two because of Kenya?
Geologists have made such estimates. In fact, a crack several kilometers long has appeared near Kenya’s Nairobi-Narok Highway. According to geologists, recently there was movement (seismic activity) in the tectonic plates of the earth here. After which the crack has spread for a distance of several miles. Geologists believe that this crack is working to divide the African continent into two parts. The earth is bursting rapidly in Africa, a sign of the end, will the earth be divided into 2 pieces?
Geologists say that rapid changes are being seen on Earth. There are many such changes which we are not able to notice. Before Kenya, such a rift was seen in the Afar parts of Ethiopia. In 2005, within just 10 days the 60 kilometer long crack had become 8 meters wide. This incident is far from true.

The Earth’s lithosphere (crust and upper part of the mantle) is divided into several tectonic plates. These plates move at different speeds. Below the lithosphere is the asthenosphere and these plates keep sliding over the asthenosphere. It is believed that the forces generated by the flow of the asthenosphere and the boundaries of the plates make them dynamic. These dynamic forces sometimes even break the technical plates. This creates cracks in the earth.
In fact, the East Africa Rift Valley extends over a distance of 3000 kilometers from the Gulf of Aden in the north towards Zimbabwe in the south. It divides the African plate into two unequal parts. When the lithosphere is under horizontal expanding force, it will spread and thin, which in geological language is called ‘rift’. Eventually this part will break due to rift.
Part of Ethiopia’s Afar region is below sea level, separated only by a 20 meter wide strip of land. As the crack expands, sea water will fill it. This will create a new ocean, which will push the sub-Somalian plate away. In this way Somalia and South Ethiopia will be separated. Then Africa will become very small and the Indian Ocean will emerge as a big island.
Rifts are the initial process of breaking of a continent. If this happens, it could lead to the formation of a new ocean basin. This has happened before with the South Atlantic Ocean. Now it remains to be seen whether the same happens with the African continent or not.
