New Delhi. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Tuesday shared pictures of the upcoming Vande Bharat sleeper trains on social media platform X. He told that this new design sleeper class will be made available to the people in 2024. As can be seen in the picture, Vande Bharat sleeper trains will have two and three tier options. The design of its berth is completely different from Rajdhani and other premium trains.

The Railway Minister did not tell when the new sleeper Vande Bharat train will be made available to the people next year. A report by news agency ANI claimed that it could be started in February 2024. Vande Bharat Sleeper trains have been introduced to give people the experience of high-speed travel for long distances at night. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav wrote on social media platform X (earlier Twitter), ‘Concept Train – Vande Bharat (Sleeper Edition). Coming soon…early 2024.

Construction is being done under Make in India
Vande Bharat trains are being manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) located in Chennai. It is being projected as a train made in India under the Make in India programme. Indian Railways has introduced the concept for Vande Bharat trains from October 1, under which coaches will be cleaned in just 14 minutes. The concept is exemplified by Japan’s bullet train model, where trains are cleaned in seven minutes.

While talking to Hindustan Times, a senior railway official said, “We want all trains to be cleaned in 14 minutes, but the beginning is being made with Vande Bharat train. Four staff will be deployed in one Vande Bharat train for cleaning. The cleaning staff has not only been trained in this regard for months but has also been given mock drills.
