England won the match
Batting first, England had scored 368 runs after losing 10 wickets, thanks to the innings of 96 runs by David Malan and 182 runs by Ben Stokes, in response to which the New Zealand team was limited to 187 runs. Glenn Phillips scored the most runs for New Zealand. He played an inning of 72 runs. England won this match by a huge margin of 181 runs and took a 2-1 lead in the 4-match series. Due to Ben Stokes’ stormy innings, he was awarded the title of Player of the Match.
